On April 9, AGENDA partner in the Philippines, CALL Foundation, conducted its first online coordination committee discussion gathering five DPO leaders to identify challenges and obstacles faced by persons with disabilities in obtaining and retaining jobs. The discussion formulated recommendations for key stakeholders including relevant government officials. Recommendations call for upgrading the skills trainings offered at vocational rehabilitation centers and aligning it with what is needed in the job market. Fourteen participants joined the discussion which consisted of eight women, five men and one representative from the transgender community. The representative of the Philippines to SOMSWD also attended the meeting and delivered a presentation on the scope of the Enabling Masterplan’s ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) action points and progress on its adoption and implementation. The recommendations will be shared on CALL Foundation’s first Digi Talk on April 21.
