On May 22, CALL organized the fourth and final webinar in their series “Promoting a Rights-based Action through the ASEAN Enabling Masterplan 2025: Mainstreaming the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.” CALL began the webinar by sharing CALL’s survey results on three important issues for people with disabilities in the Philippines – education, accessibility, employment – during the COVID-19 pandemic, along with a brief explanation of the Masterplan. Hanna A. Giray, Assistant Bureau Director of Department of Social Welfare and Development Central Office, announced the winners of the Enabler talent contest and the poster making contest, as well as the Netizen’s Favorite of the Enabler talent contest. AGENDA Disability Rights Advisor, Tolhas Damanik, praised CALL’s work advocating for the Masterplan in the Philippines and encouraged the country to pursue the implementation of the Masterplan. Her Excellency Ambassador Elizabeth Buensuceso, the Philippines Representative to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) provided closing remarks on the importance of united actions in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, implementing the Master-plan and in adopting new norms in all aspects of life, including protecting human rights. 117 people participated in the webinar
