On October 11, General Election Network for Disability Access (AGENDA) partner, Cambodian Disabled People’s Organization (CDPO), held a national conference on mainstreaming the rights of persons with disabilities in Phnom Penh attended by 101 participants, including 29 women participants. Four government officials from the Ministry of Health; Ministry of Women’s Affairs; Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction; and the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation were also in attendance. The government also announced its plan to amend Cambodian disability law, yet no details were provided. During the conference, 70 disabled people’s organizations (DPOs) suggested advocating for the implementation of the Enabling Masterplan 2025: Mainstreaming the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Masterplan) with regional and local government officials. The participants committed to raising awareness on the Masterplan throughout the country. The national conference was aired live on CDPO’s Facebook Page.
