On February 24, PPDI organized a CSO Coalition Meeting with 4 CSOs namely TURC, APINDO, KAPAL Perempuan and Kerjabilitas in order to do a joint advocacy in enhancing employment of persons with disabilities in Indonesia. PPDI proposed the implementation of Law No 8/2016, article 53 point 2 that states at least 1% of the total workers in a private company must be persons with disabilities workers. All CSOs were agreed at the meeting to have a joint advocacy together with PPDI. As part of the coalition, APINDO is going to organize 2 podcasts, Kerjabilitas will conduct a series of trainings that involve participation of persons with disabilities, KAPAL Perempuan will organize a webinar related to an inclusive working environment for women with disabilities, and TURC is going to develop a position paper related to employment and disability rights. PPDI will draft the joint advocacy plan of the coalition with the timetable of the activities and request for further review and feedback from all the coalition members. The coalition has agreed that the next consolidation meeting will be on mid-March 2022. Total of 10 people, with 2 men participated in the first coalition meeting.
