On April 20 – 21, IFES organized a training on integrating gender perspectives in organizational activities for General Election Network for Disability Access (AGENDA) partners in Southeast Asia facilitated by IFES Senior Global Gender Specialist Gina Chirillo. On the first day, participants learned about the importance of gender mainstreaming and strategies to incorporate a gender perspective such as conducting a gender analysis. Partners also learned about creating a gender action plan and ensuring gender balance among staff and stakeholders. On the second day, partners learned about advancing gender equality in advocacy programs and engaged in interactive breakout room exercises to identify the potential barriers, challenges and solutions in creating gender-inclusive activities. Thirty participants, including 19 women from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, participated in the training.
